We’d like to invite you to come and support our mission and the children. Whether you’re looking for a fun outing or a way to give back, we have several events, fundraisers and craft shows that you can attend.
At our events, you’ll have a chance to enjoy family friendly activities and learn about our mission. You can also come and browse craft stalls, buy handmade gifts and items, and enjoy entertainment from local artists. Funds raised from our events and craft shows go towards supporting our mission and the children.

Get Ready for GUNS & HOSES 2024!
Join us at Scope Arena for the 14th Annual Guns & Hoses charity hockey game on March 9th, 2024! Local police officers and firemen will battle it out on the Admirals ice to raise money for Vigilant Watch, a non-profit that supports first responders who have encountered physical, mental, or financial hardship.
Our Gnome on the Roam will be facilitating a complimentary craft during the pre-game festivities, come craft with us, take a photo with our mascot and grab a goody bag. One lucky participant will win a FREE Kids' Night Out! So join us before you grab your seat to watch the BIG GAME!

First Responder Peer & Family Creative Wellness Workshop
This event is hosted by Hero Kids Foundation, Chesapeake Fire Department, The Pillars and Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center of Chesapeake to bring the healing arts to firefighters and their families.
Preventative wellness and self-care do NOT need to be difficult! Come join us to learn and experience how the creative arts can physiologically change our well being.

Dawn Leonard with Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center has served over 2000 children in Chesapeake since opening in April 2022 and has worked closely with Hero Kids Foundation to provide this pilot program to Chesapeake Fire Families. She will guide first responders and their children (ages 3-16) through a fun and rewarding art project. Get first hand experience of the power of the creative arts.
Get Ready for KindFest 2024!
Kindfest is a family-friendly, dog-friendly, community event to help bring Hampton Roads together for a day full of positivity.
KindFest 2024 will be held on Saturday, April 6th from Noon-4pm at Mount TrashmorePark in Virginia Beach. KindFest 2024 will include live music by SnackbarJones, food trucks and beverages including Bay Bay Brewing Company’s “KindfestCrushes”, plus giant inflatables for the kids surrounding various charitable organizations from all over Hampton Roads.
Military Child Celebration
The military child event is a special gathering dedicated to celebrating the resilience and courage of military children. Through a blend of nature and art activities, families come together to honor and appreciate these young heroes who serve alongside their military parents or loved ones. It's a time to recognize the sacrifices they make and the unique challenges they face, all while fostering a sense of community and support among military families.

Chesapeake Spring Art Festival
COME SEE OUR STUDENTS' ART ON DISPLAY and participate in our COMMUNITY ART PROJECT entitled : "Connecting Our Community to Kick Anxiety with Creativity" which will be on display at City Hall in May 2024 for Children's Mental Health Awareness Month. Experience the vibrant heart of Chesapeake at our Spring Art Festival, where over 150 artists bring the city to life with their creativity.
The Rotary Club of Chesapeake, in conjunction with the Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission, is having our fourth annual Chesapeake Spring Arts Festival April 20th and 21st, 2024. Voted 6th in the Nation by our artists in Sunshine Artist Magazine in 2023, this show is one not to be missed!
Immerse yourself in a day of exquisite art, live music, and culinary delights. Discover the magic of glass blowing, woodturning, and more. Join us for an unforgettable celebration of art, craft beer, and fine wines, all set against the backdrop of Chesapeake’s beautiful spring scenery. Don’t miss the premier art, beer, and food festival that’s perfect for families and art lovers alike.
Artists are coming from all over the east coast and mid-west and including a plethora of local talent, this show will have fantastic works of art for sale. All the popular mediums will be represented from wood and paintings to glass and ceramics! Artists are vying for $5,500 in various awards including one $1,500 Best In Show winner!
There will be a children’s craft activity tent facilitated by Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center and 4Kids.
Popular entertainment groups are scheduled to perform all weekend. In honor of 4/20 we will have the Last Fair Deal, a Grateful Dead cover band performing Saturday and the wildly popular ‘80s cover band, The Deloreans, on Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Craft beer from regional breweries and a selection of fine wines will be for sale by the glass.

On Sunday, April 28th, 2024, Oak Grove Lake Park will come alive with our highly anticipated 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk for Children's Mental Health Awareness/Acceptance.
Early Bird Registration ends April 1st! Cost is $25 per participant.
